Typically, if you have no or minor gum problems, we perform a standard comprehensive cleaning utilizing polishing paste, ultrasonic scalers and pain-free laser if need. Such appointment usually takes about 30 minutes.
If your gums display signs and symptoms of periodontal disease/periodontitis (it means that the infection has affected the underlying bone) our typical choice of treatment would be ‘deep cleaning’ or what professionals refer to as scaling and root planning. No worries, we can assure you that you won’t feel pain during this treatment. Topical and local anesthetics are used as well as soft tissue laser which is virtually pain free. This treatment is a little more time consuming and sometimes requires 2 separate visits.
